Constance (Connie) Anne Gibson born July 11, 1954 in Empress, Alberta passed away the morning of June 17, 2019.

Throughout her childhood, Connie moved around the province and graduated from South Central High School in Oyen, Alberta in 1972. From there she moved to Calgary where she met Glen Gibson. They married July 5, 1975 and moved to Castor in 1977 to start their family. Connie worked as an insurance administrator for AFSC until she retired in 2012. Always needing something to do, Connie was involved with the Castor Curling Club, woodworking, was an avid golfer and swimmer, and occasional yogi. She loved the Castor community and volunteered on various boards and committees, including the hospital board and the Castor & District Agricultural Society. In more recent years she was even trying her hand at learning bridge. When she wanted to do something, Connie went out and figured out how to do it.

Connie is survived by her mother Helen, husband Glen, 4 children: Matthew (Michelle), Weston, Kristin (Chris), and Andrea (Brad); 4 grandchildren: Caleb, Milo, Clark, and Marty; 8 siblings: Don (Carol), Pat (Donna), Frank (Yvonne), Colleen (Dave), Robyn (Allan), Cindy, Nancy (Allister), Robyn (Allan), and Laurie (Wayne); brother in law Barry (Kathy), as well as a plethora nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father Gib, father in law Ashley, mother in law Bessie, and brother in laws Roger and Lee. Connie loved having a large family and cared about all of them deeply.

A memorial for Connie will be held at 2PM on Saturday, June 29 at the Castor Community Hall with light food to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital Foundation.

Please accept our deepest sympathies on the passing of Connie. Glen and Connie shared the same wedding date as us July 5, 1975. Connie was an amazing woman and will be missed by her many friends in the Castor community. Hugs and prayers to all of her family and friends.

Condolences from the Walker family. It was certainly our priviledge watching Connie grow up next door, and later still a part of our family as she finished school, went to Calgary, married and raised a family. Her kindness, generosity and wit will be remembered and cherished.

Glen & family, please accept my condolences on the loss of an old friend & co-worker. I worked with Connie at Alberta Gas Trunkline in the early '70s, it was such a pleasure to find someone with the work ethic of Connie. I was able to connect up with Connie a few years ago thru Facebook, it was great to see her so happy and so very proud of her family. Wilma, Connie and I had talked about getting together for a reunion of sorts, sadly, it never came to fruition. Our reunion has been postponed for now. Hugs all around!

She was a wonderful, vibrant woman and I was lucky to know her. She meant so much to me and I loved it when she laughed. I will miss her deeply and am thinking of you all at this difficult time.
