Hisey, Evelyn Irene (nee Adamson) passed away after a long battle with cancer on January 20, 2013 in her 88th year.
Beloved wife for 67 years of Arnot Samuel Hisey, loving mother of Judy McLeod, David (Rosemary) Hisey, Elizabeth Allen, Grace (Allan) Urry, Lois (Tim) Kratchmer, Catherine (Richard) Wylie. Forever cherished by her 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.  Evelyn will be sadly missed by her sister Ruth Wright.  She was predeceased by her sister Dorothy and her brothers Eric, Bernard and Donald.
Evelyn was born in Stayner, Ontario on April 17, 1925.  Evelyn and Arnot were married at Wasaga Beach on December 5, 1945.  After farming in Creemore for 13 years they moved to Wasaga Beach, Ontario, where the children were raised, then moving to Alberta in 1980.
One of Evelyn’s greatest passions was painting.  Her art became popular, selling much of her work.  Evelyn and Arnot’s home presents an array of her artwork.  Evelyn had a strong faith in God that began at age 8. She loved to be part of church and community.  Evelyn taught Sunday School, was instrumental in starting a Girl Guide troop at Wasaga Beach and in recent years made and sold aprons for missions.  She loved to travel and camp.  Evelyn and Arnot spent many days on the road between Ontario and British Columbia visiting family and exploring Canada.   She will be missed.
“In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count.  It’s the life in your years.”
                                                                                                                  Abraham Lincoln
A funeral service for Mrs. Evelyn Hisey will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Evangelical Missionary Church in Castor, Alberta at 1:00P.M.

To my Uncle Arnot and all of his family, my sincere condolences in the loss of your beloved wife, mother and grandmother plus. I can close my eyes and see so vividly the times we shared love and great laughter in your home when you lived at Wasaga Beach. I know without "mom" life will not be quite the same but I do know that she is part of your future not part of your past. We can look forward with great anticipation to a time of joy and endless singing and the reunion will be so sweet. It won't be long, until then...
Love Helen Broadbent (Hisey)

Evelyn was such a wonderful friend. Memories of her and my mom (Gloria Angel) laughing over a cup of tea and making plans for the next ladies meeting at the missionary church in Wasaga beach are like yesterday. She was always such an encouragement to the young girls in her sundsy school class.
She was a special lady and will be missed.

Evelyn was a woman who loved people unconditionally, who would go to great lengths to help someone. She was a great example of a Christian woman. We will fondly remember her.

Memories of our times with Evelyn

I was introduced to Evelyn and Arnot at least 22 years ago through a referral by my neighbor Wally, who figured I should be an Amway distributor.
Well, there was an immediate connection and spent many enjoyable evenings at the pot lucks at their home in Winterburn.
I also went out for coffee at least one morning a week when Travis and Michelle were in school and I was working part time. We continued this after Heather came along and by then were firmly entrenched in the growing number of adopted family members.
We started taking the station wagons on yearly journeys to BC, first to visit with my parents for a few days and then we would head off with the tent trailer to Kamloops for the Amway convention. I am sure we made that journey at least 10 years in a row.
I have wonderful memories of Travis, Michelle, Melissa and Sarah all sitting around the big table downstairs in Winterburn, taking painting lessons from Evelyn and of course producing wonderful masterpieces. I have a few of her wonderful paintings and they are all treasures to me.
I don’t think there was ever a person’s birthday that went by without a card being received.
And Evelyn was the only person I know who could make liver & onions taste great!
We have missed having Arnot, Evelyn, Cathy and her family down the street, but our love and friendship will always be close to our hearts.

Love always,
Gail, Travis, Michelle & Heather Jessome

Uncle Arnot our prayers and thoughts are with you ( my mom Ruth and brother Rodger) and your whole family. Many childhood memories of spending time up at your farm in the early days and then down to the house in Wasaga Beach. Please convey to all my cousins our sympathy and prayers on this Evelyn's graduation day to her Heavenly home. Sincerely Rob, Rodger and Ruth.
